Family Duplex – Cambridge Subdivision
Architecturally designed duplex in Cambridge featuring a 4-bedroom home and 1-bedroom unit with wrap-around decks, patios, and full landscaping.
This joint venture between Finz Carpentry and Joe and Shelley of Fowler Homes Waikato set out to create a duplex that didn’t look like a duplex. Located on a high-profile 899m² site in a new Cambridge subdivision, the focus was on design, functionality, and maximising both investment return and street appeal.
The result is a cleverly planned dual-dwelling development that balances density with individuality. Dwelling One comprises four bedrooms, a family bathroom, master ensuite with double robe, and an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining space designed for modern family living. Dwelling Two offers a self-contained one-bedroom unit, perfect for tenants, extended family, or future flexibility. Both dwellings feature wrap-around decking, concrete patios, and full landscaping to complete a high-quality, cohesive development.
Client Vision
The brief was simple yet ambitious: an investment property that looked like two well-designed standalone homes. Design quality, functionality, and lasting value were paramount, along with a focus on layouts that suited modern living while respecting the site’s high-profile position.
